July 1, 2009 Union traveled to Parkersburg on June 22, and came away with a 12-4 win. It was a back and fourth game until the sixth when Knight hitters broke open the game with five runs. The big blows were back to back hits from Cheyne Reiter and Matt Prestemon. Cory Feldpouch added a base loaded double in the seventh to seal the deal. Matt Feuerbach went 6 1/2 innings, allowing one earned run on four hits and a walk. He struck out five. Matt Prestemon came on to get the last two outs. » Full Story

July 1, 2009 Tama County and Genesis Development has reached an agreement for the lease of the Country Care facility located at 2480 K Avenue, Toledo. This covers the buildings and improvements, all personal property and fixtures contained within the facility for a term of one year, commencing at midnight July 1, 2009 and ending at midnight on the last day of June 2010. The lease shall automatically renew for a period of one year unless terminated in writing by either party prior to April 1 of the contract year. » Full Story

July 1, 2009 “The warm weather has helped crop progress, but the severe storms that have also struck the state have caused isolated damage,” Northey said. “In addition, the high heat and humidity can cause stress for livestock, so it is vital farmers remain attentive to cattle that are out in the heat.” Agricultural Summary: Temperatures during the last week of spring welcomed the official start of summer. March 5, 2009 I was reading the Nutrition Facts on the side of my cereal box this morning. It was very informative about just what, exactly, was going into my body at that moment. I tried to ignore the fact that the calorie count was based on a 2 cup serving and I was eating out of a mixing bowl. I mean, they don’t actually think I’m going to be able to measure anything at oh-my-gosh- o’clock in the morning, do they? I can’t even read the clock yet or find a decent-sized bowl. » Full Story
