Letter to the Editor,

This November 2nd Tama county voters will be voting for county Recorder. Deb Kupka has been Tama county's Recorder for the past 5 years, and is running for re-election to that position. Deb Kupka is clearly the candidate in the race with the job experience worthy of our vote.

Deb brings 34 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience to the office of Recorder, including her 5 years on the job as Recorder. During that time Deb has launched on-site Passport picture taking in the office, bringing $17,000 of additional revenue to the office as well as the convenience it provides to Tama county residents. Also, Deb has kept her department under budget all 5 years, returning over $23,000 of budgeted money back to the Tama county General Fund. That is the kind of fiscally responsible leadership that Tama county needs. Deb has also served in a statewide capacity as president of the Iowa District 1 Recorders Association, a position that enhances her ability to share ideas with other county Recorders for Tama county's benefit.

Deb was born and raised in Tama county, graduating from South Tama County High with Honors. Deb and her husband Steve make their home in the Clutier area and raised their 3 daughters there. Deb has been very active in the Tama county community, as a member and secretary for the Clutier First Responders, Treasurer for the Vining Events Committee, member of the Tama County Fair Queen Committee, volunteer at the Tama County Fair, 12 years as a 4-H leader for the Clutier Cowboys and Cowgirls, Co-founder and past board member of the Clutier Public Library, and former board member of the Pied Piper pre-school and daycare. For more details on Deb's experience, see her Facebook page "Kupka for Recorder".

Tama county needs a county Recorder that has technical knowledge and experience in managing the Land documents and Vital records that are critical to our county government and our personal lives, experience in managing personnel, experience in dealing with the public, and is dedicated to serving the community with a strong work ethic. Deb has a strong work record in all those areas, and that's why I support Deb Kupka for county Recorder. Experience matters. I'm confident Deb will continue to serve Tama county extremely well in the Recorders position. I hope you'll join me in voting for Deb Kupka for Tama County Recorder.
