Jan. 30, 1931

Miss Opal Thierer and Lee Heckroth were wed at a quiet wedding Wednesday afternoon, January 28.

The graduating class of the Dysart School will be small this year with only 17 seniors. The senior class next year will probably be the largest in the history of the school with 38 members in that class.

Jan. 29, 1941

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Lassen are the parents of a seven pound daughter born at Vinton Monday, January 27.

Miss Jeanne Leo, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. V. Leo, was selected as the sixth Old Gold beauty, at I.S.T.C. in Cedar Falls.

Feb. 4, 1960

Mr. and Mrs. Dilman Dicken are announcing the approaching marriage of their daughter, Norma Harrison, Cedar Rapids, to James Usher, Cedar Rapids, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles E. Usher of Dunedin, Fla.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Feller of La Porte City are parents of a son born Friday, January 29, in Waterloo.

Jan. 26, 1961

Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Collins of Dysart are the parents of a daughter born last Thursday morning at the Vinton hospital.

Sharon Clough, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clough of Dysart, was recently elected president of the Student Nurses Association at Allen Memorial Lutheran School of Nursing.

Jan. 28, 1971

Mr. and Mrs. Craig Gingrich of Cedar Rapids are the parents of their first child and son, Kimball Jason, born Saturday, January 16.

Mr. and Mrs. James Harrison, Jr., of Dysart are the parents of their first child, a son, born Sunday, January 24, at St. Luke Hospital in Cedar Rapids. He has been named Mark Lee.

Jan. 22, 1981

Announcement is being made of the engagement and approaching marriage of Holly Santman and Tim Ewoldt. An April 4, wedding is planned at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer.

Luther College junior Scott Gajewsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil Gajewsky of Dysart, was one of 48 named as lettermen by head football coach Bob Naslund for the 1980 season.

Jan. 31, 1991

Bill Buchanan, 22, has joined the staff at Farmers Cooperative Telephone Company. He is a December 1989 graduate of the University of Iowa with a major in general studies, emphasis in marketing and management.

David Schnell, the grandson of Ada Schnell of Dysart, is now serving in the Persian Gulf on the U.S.S. Tarawa.

Jan. 25, 2001

Kendall and Laurie Havran of Dysart are proud to announce the birth of their third son, Nolan Richard, born Monday, January 8, 2001.

Tracie and Brian Smith of St. Lucas are proud to announce the arrival of their second child and first daughter born on January 16. She has been named Anna Elizabeth.
