Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Wilson are the parents of their first child, a boy, born on December 18, at the home of Mr. Wilson's parents. He has been given the name of James Barry Wilson.
Albert Tritch and Miss Mary Sloan, both of the Dysart vicinity, were married at Vinton Saturday, December 17.

Geneseo relatives received word of the birth of a baby girl, Louise Nadine, to Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Gregory of Dike in Allen Hospital on December 22.
Dec. 20, 1962
Doug Mehlhaus of Dysart, Hawkeye basketball player, became the first Hawkeye to pull in 10 rebounds in a single game. Also, Doug came through with 14 points, five field goals, and four free throws Monday night in a win over Clemson, 74-64.
The Dysart rural firemen were called to the Mrs. Emma Lamprecht farm east of town Monday morning. The tenant house on the farm had caught fire. There was extensive damage to the home.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Kusel of Vinton will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday, December 28, with a family gathering and reception at the Lutheran parish hall in Dysart.
Mr. and Mrs. Claude Sawyer will be observing their 60th wedding anniversary January 1, 1973.
