Union High School and Aplington-Parkersburg High School will Fight Together for a CURE during Coaches vs. Cancer Night.
Friday, January 13 at Union High School the two high schools will TEAM UP together to benefit the American Cancer Society.
The Knights are teaming up with the AP Falcons to Fight Together for a CURE with all proceeds going to the American Cancer Society. There will be a pre-game silent auction as well as specialized event t-shirts, long sleeve t-shirts and sweatshirts. Deadlines to order shirts will be January 5. All t-shirts and sweatshirts are purple, which represents all cancers.
During the week of January 9-13, there will be different events going on to support Cancer Awareness.
The kids at Union Community and AP can make pledges to the American Cancer Society of whose basketball coach will win the Basketball Shootout. Coach Aaron Thomas of AP will go up against Coach Tyler Edwards of Union in a 3-point shootout during halftime of the girls basketball game. During the boys halftime, the community is welcome to join for a game of knock-out. The winner will receive half the pot, while the other half will go to the American Cancer Society.
