The Dengler Domain: Tama County

May 5, 2017

There are parts about Tama County which make it beautiful. Currently, I live in the big city of Des Moines, but Tama County will be my home. I will always have a special bond with my homeland. A part of this bond are the magnificent views in Tama County.

The first view are the winding roads. Driving north on 63 out of Toledo to Traer is a delight. The path is adventurous as the hills straddle the road. The unending terrain is a wonderful sight as nothing impedes my line of sight. The land runs as free as the roads. Upon entering the heart of Tama County from Toledo, the hills elicit emotion to let me know I am home.

The second view is spotting the spinning wind turbine south of Traer. It is great to see mankind conquering a natural weather event for the greater good of humanity. While wind turbines exist in bunches throughout Iowa, rarely does a wind turbine turn in the wind solely to power a town. It is a proud accomplishment to promote a safer, cleaner future for the children of Traer and Iowa.

The third view is Tama County. Similar to the hills of Tama County, the openness of Tama County is awe inspiring. Standing outside on a farm and looking miles into the distance with no obstructed view is better than the suburbs where I see my neighbor's dog poop from my window. The openness is powerful because nature shows her unending beauty. The stillness of Tama County creates a calm to relax everyone. I take the silence of the countryside for granted. After staying in the city for too long, nothing feels better than the silence of the open prairie.

These three views are some of my favorite locations of Tama County. While they are not specific, the elicit of emotions from these locations make them wonderful. Tama County is a beautiful, and it should not be taken for granted. This why I want to further explore Tama County. While I lived there for many years, there is much more to explore. If you have any cool places to visit, shoot me an email at God bless Tama County.
