D-G fifth graders enjoy field trip

June 16, 2017
Dysart Reporter

On Tuesday, May 23, twenty-seven D-G Elementary Fifth Grade students and their teachers spent part of the afternoon at the Dysart Historical Center. Their visit was coordinated with a previous day's program on Dysart's Orphan Train Heritage, and included a special emphasis on the Historical Center's Orphan Train display. The students spent time in each of the Center's four buildings and enjoyed finding historic items on a scavenger hunt, using the hand corn sheller and corn sorter, and finding special events on the Historical-Agricultural Timeline. Each student received a sack containing activities to do at home, along with treats from the Historical Society.
