The Dysart Aquatic Center is up and running for the summer and despite setbacks in the past year the staff is primed to provide area families with a fun, safe pool for the scorching days ahead.

Michelle Lynn returns for her third season as the manager of Dysart Aquatic Center, which is run by the City of Dysart.

"Our frog slide currently has issues in the piping, so we cannot run water through it," Lynn said. "But it's still usable. Our mushroom attraction last season wasn't able to run, but this season is available and up. So this season we only have one of our features down. No one has complained because they can still use the slides and stay cool."

The Dysart Aquatic Center is back in business for the summer, employing 14 lifeguards this year as the pool welcomes young families and day care kids.

According to Lynn, the aquatic center has run 70-75 kids through a day so far this summer. The pool is staffed with 14 lifeguards this season, including several recent graduates who will be heading out to college this year or the next. Private lessons this season will be provided by lifeguards Emma Alpers, Riley Davis and Grace Asmussen. Dysart Swim team meets are also held at the pool. The Dysart Aquatic Center is entering its 15th year of existence and is maintained by the City each season.

"Our two city guys are wonderful in getting this up and going while fixing any issues," Lynn said. "I'm appreciative of their work. I think it's important to have the pool in the community because of the families. Young families come here, both our local daycares are here almost daily through the summer. So many people utilize the pool. When you live in a small town and there's not much to do, you can come here to get cool off in the summer."

Open hours are 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Prices for daily admission are $4 and adults 18+ can do lap swimming all summer for $35 from 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. each morning starting June 10. A single pass is $85, a family pass $150. Stay tuned for events this summer as Lynn plans to announce to announce several at a later date.
